Jambo,
20 Years ago, Diani Children?s Village was but a dream in the minds and hearts of a group of well wishers. With the courage of their convictions, they stepped in to the unknown, and took in the first baby, abandoned by her mother in difficult circumstances. Others were to follow shortly, and with that the Home came into existence. The journey, as with life, has not been without its? share of highs and lows but the Home has stood tall and grown stronger with the passage of time. It has become what is it because you believed , and so much has been achieved because you have been there to support the Team. As we celebrates 20 years of existence, on the 27th of December 2014, we salute you for your continuous support and prayers.

As we humbly reflect on the impact your contributions in word and deed have had on the lives of vulnerable children, it is very clear that you have given them one of the greatest gifts of all, the opportunity to secure the brightest future of each and everyone of them.

Children become young adults, and move out into the World to pursue their dreams armed with the confidence and skills that the Home has given to them. The Home is indeed blessed that several of those young adults have taken up roles as mentors of their younger family members, a gift that often comes with a balanced upbringing. These are the some rewards of your support. Thank you.

As the young adults leave, their place is taken by new children who are committed to the Home by the Children?s Department. The newest member of the family is BABY YUSUF (now 2 months old) who we rescued and took in when he was 3 days old after being abandoned by his mother immediately after delivery. He is developing very well and the Team is happy to have him as part of our loving family.

We hope that with all that is happening in the World around us, each is able to have a moment to reflect on how our own lives have changed and how our actions have changed the lives of others. We give thanks for the kindness and assistance that you have offered to the Home.

On behalf of the Children and the Team, we would like to wish you our Warmest Greetings this Festive Season, and hope that the New Year will bring Peace and Prosperity to you and those special to you.
