Newsflash Diani Children’s Village
# 03/2009Jambo from Diani Children's Village,
It has been the hottest period of the year with very high temperatures of 34° but we are all doing well.
We are glad to inform you about the progress of the Children and the home in general.
One of the students, Grace, completed her primary school education last year and performed very well! Grace got a placement at Lamu Girls Secondary School where she is now in Form 1.
We have six other youngsters; Yona, Dorcas, Wavinja, Esther, Angelina and Martha in Standard 8 and sitting for the KCPE ( primary school exams) this year in November.
Four of our secondary school students are completing their Secondary Education end of this year; Reuben, Moses, Ruth and Peris.
We are also happy to inform you that one of our students who has benefited from our sponsored program, Solomon, has now completed his medical studies and is working as a registered Clinical Officer in Mombasa.
The staff are also doing well and we now have a new Administrator by the name Margaret, who is in charge of the office and will be answering your emails and phone calls. Sylvia has left the orphanage for other prospects and will be greatly missed by the children. We wish her a bright future in her new endeavors.
This year is a particular difficult one for the home financially as fewer people come on holidays compared to previous years. Would like to thank everybody for the fantastic support we keep on receiving, we would not be able to keep the Home running without your wonderful help!
