Fundraising events
In December 2006 the annual Fun-Run event to raise funds for the Diani Children’s Village will take place again for the 10th time, at one of the properties of Alliance Hotels & Resorts. This group of hotels is committed in their support and has hosted this event since it started in 1997.
Our guest of honour will be Mr. Henry Wanyoike, a renowned international blind athlete, currently recordholder of 5.000 & 10.000mtrs Paralympics and Sportsman of the year 2005 SOYA worldwide. Henry has supported the project and has taken part in the run for the last few years. His participation made the Run a great success.Our aim for 2006 is to raise funds to be able to complete the construction of accommodation for the home's older children who are attending secondary schools and colleges so that the main house will have enough space to accommodate more younger children in need.
The run is open to everyone – local, resident’s guests, youth, the middle-aged or the young at heart!
You can support this year’s event by:
- Monetary donations towards the Children’s home
- Banner charge Ksh 5000,-
- Sponsorship of an individual Ksh 1000,-
- Sponsorship of a corporate team of 5 for Ksh 10.000,-
- Cost of T-Shirts, Printing/delivery - (200 pcs )

Currently there are 21 children staying at the Diani Children’s Village, aged between 2-5 months and 18 years old.
Most of the children are orphaned, neglected or abandoned.
