Newsletter Diani Children’s Village
Janvier 2007

In our last newsletter of September 2006, we informed you that the accommodation for the older children had nearly been completed.
Since the beginning of december 2006, the youngsters who are attending boarding schools have moved into their new home and are very excited to have their own place!

The children have been on a long Christmas holidays and will resume their studies next week. During the long break, they went on a trip to Nakuru, Naivasha and Baringo which gave them the opportunity to get to know their own country. The children had a great time and we would like to thank everybody who has made this trip possible.
In our next newsletter we hope to be able to send you some photos of their experience.

The extension of the layers project is now in full operation and the chickens are producing wonderful eggs. Together with the broilers and workshop, we now have three self-income generating projects which help a great deal in making the Home more independent.

On the 28th of December 2006 we had the tenth annual Fun Run which was a great success. We would like to thank all who took part and contributed towards the event.

As for our next project, we are planning to build an outside kitchen and canteen, as the existing one has become to small to cater for everybody.
